Searching the Title Plant

Find recorded documents in Platted's integrated title plant. This is the primary way to add exam documents to your orders.

Accessing Plant Search

From an Order Detail page:

  1. Go to the Documents tab
  2. Click the Search Plant button
  3. The plant search interface opens

Search Options

By Instrument Number

Search for a specific document:

  1. Enter the instrument number
  2. Click Search
  3. View matching results

By Property

Search for documents affecting the property:

  1. The property details auto-populate from the order
  2. Adjust search parameters as needed
  3. Click Search

By Date Range

Narrow results by recording date:

  1. Set the start date
  2. Set the end date
  3. Apply the filter

By Document Type

Filter by document type:

  1. Select document types to include
  2. Available types vary by county

Search Results

Results display:

  • Document type
  • Recording date
  • Instrument number
  • Parties (if available)
  • Brief description

Previewing Documents

Before importing:

  1. Click a result to open the preview drawer
  2. View the document image
  3. Review document details
  4. Decide whether to import

Quick Search Presets

Common searches are available as presets:

  • Recent conveyances
  • Active mortgages
  • All liens
  • Plats and surveys

Click a preset to run that search automatically.

Search Tips

  • Start broad, then narrow with filters
  • Use date ranges to focus on relevant periods
  • Check multiple document type categories
  • Preview documents before bulk importing
