Manual Editing

Override AI extractions when corrections are needed.

When to Edit Manually

Manual editing is useful when:

  • AI misclassified a document type
  • Party names were extracted incorrectly
  • Recording information needs correction
  • Legal description parsing failed
  • Matters need adjustment

Editing Document Type

To change a document's type:

  1. Open the document detail panel
  2. Find the document type field
  3. Click the dropdown and select the correct type
  4. The change saves automatically

Editing Party Information

Correcting Names

  1. Click the party name to edit
  2. Update first name, middle name, last name, or suffix
  3. Click outside the field to save

Changing Entity Type

Select the correct entity type from the dropdown:

  • Individual
  • Corporation
  • LLC
  • Trust
  • Estate
  • Partnership

Adding Parties

  1. Click Add Grantor or Add Grantee
  2. Fill in the party details
  3. The party is added to the extraction

Removing Parties

Click the delete icon next to a party to remove them.

Editing Recording Information

Update instrument numbers, book/page references, and dates by clicking the field and entering the correct value.

Editing Matters

Changing Matter Type

Select a different matter type from the dropdown to reclassify.

Updating Entry Numbers

Edit the entry number field directly.

Adding References

Link the matter to related documents by adding instrument references.

Overriding Status

You can manually override matter status if the automatic determination is incorrect:

  1. Find the status field
  2. Select Override Status
  3. Choose the correct status

Saving Changes

Most changes save automatically. Look for confirmation messages to verify your changes were saved.

Document Category

To move a document between Exam and Supporting categories:

  1. Find the category assignment
  2. Select the correct category
  3. The document moves to the appropriate table
